Girls Can Be Nasty

Oppression, violence, bodies and domesticity are concepts that define this work.

In this piece, the artist explores the condition of women as a source of hatred in which their body is the main receiver. Following the artist’s aesthetics, there is a certain masochistic pleasure in this humiliation, as portrayed by their exuberant positions and their grins of pleasure floating in the grim light and the softness of the recently ironed fabrics. There is, however, and element of redemption, which can only be found in their rapturous female bodies.
