The tree is where growing up begins, where our personality puts down roots, where we develop the bark of our self-defence mechanisms
but it is also the place for casual nests, the nests of thousands of birds in their long journey. In homosexual theory, there is a wide debate on alternative forms of affection, on the impossibility of the tree’s fixity and the freedom of the bird, which is what this installation —specifically created for this gardened space at Poble Espanyol— reflects upon. This critique where organic elements intertwine represents a different kind of affect, a personal fluid and transitory experience based on diversity and abundance, maybe with a certain touch of promiscuity, that also opens the door to disillusion and trauma. In the end, it is dangerous to fall in love with wild things, the sky is their limit.
